The GradMed Journey was created by Joanne Rose in 2018. Joanne is a second year graduate entry medical student at the University of Warwick. After graduating with a 2:1 degree in Medical Science at University of Birmingham, Joanne started at the University of Warwick in September 2018.

Jo started a YouTube channel in June 2017 with the hope of providing information and advice based off her own personal experience of applying to graduate entry medicine in the UK. Originally going by the name “Jo’s Journey to Medicine UK”, Joanne changed the name of her channel to The GradMed Journey and began to gain a small following on instagram, where she mainly is involved in the studygram community. This is a large and growing community of students across the world who share their notes, studies, and learning experience with other users to keep both themselves and those following them motivated to study. Jo also uses Instagram stories to keep her followers updated on her life, and to interact with them too.

In terms of the GradMed Journey, her main aim is to help prospective medical students, whilst also giving them motivation and inspiration to follow their dreams by documenting her time throughout medical school with complete honesty and without sugar coating the highs or the lows.
